The Ker Family
Huntington’s Disease is a cruel, inherited neurological condition that slowly robs people of movement, thinking, and emotional control. But it doesn’t just affect individuals — it impacts entire families, generation after generation.
For me, this is personal. It has affected my great-grandmother, my grandfather, and now my dad. I live every day knowing there’s a 50% chance I may also carry the gene. This uncertainty shapes not only how we live — but how we hope.
Throughout July, I’ll be taking on the challenge of walking 10,000 steps a day to raise awareness and funds for Huntington’s Victoria — an organisation that provides vital support, advocacy, and care for individuals and families affected by HD. Every dollar helps fund practical assistance, emotional support, and the fight for a future with better care and, ultimately, a cure.
If you’re able, please donate. Every donation counts no matter how big or small. And even if you can’t, I’d love for you to read, share, and help raise awareness — because understanding is where change begins.
Together, we can give hope a future.
